After several past test runs & failures due to me being an old(er) dog with a fear of learning new tricks...I'm trading my very familiar (and a bit boring) iPhone for another Z30.

I'm determined to excersize patience this time learning the device, and will have to do a lot of lurking again right here...after being gone a while.

It is OTA. You can load leaked builds manually, but I wouldn't recommend it for a beginner. Once you get accustomed to BB10, it will be hard to use anything else. I have tried countless times to switch to IPhone because of the accessories and I just can't give up the productiveness of BlackBerry.

Go into settings and do the software update. Should be 10.2.1.3247 or 10.2.1 at least.

Good luck with your z30, take the time to learn the device and be patient. I came over from IOS to my z30 and I am not looking back, have fun.

Really thinking of doing the same thing here. I miss bb10 and actually being able to attach things in emails. With the current price on the unlocked Z30 it's hard not to take the plunge again.
