but this does not make any sense, it would be a "downgrade" for the Classic, because it has less dpi than the Q10. And in my opinion, the Q10 has a good size to screen resolution, even small letters are good readable.

So if they increase the screen size, they should stay with the same dpi and thus need an higher resolution.

They did the very same with the Z30, even kind of worse because screen size increased by 0.8" (compared to 0.4") and the resolution got even reduced slightly (768p to 720p) and it worked. Besides the SuperAMOLED display of the Q10 uses a pentile matrix, this reduces the effective PPI of the screen a bit. The Classic on the other hand sports a traditional RGB LCD display. I'd say the real world differences will be minor.

Using a screenshot from the Classic, I did a small UI comparison that shows the benefits the Classic will have even though it still retains the 720x720 resolution of the Q10.



It's more than just magnifying the same screen to a larger size. i.e. more actions now shown on bottom action bar and more room open for content.
