Passport should have it, it's rumoured to be coming. Whether it'll be Qi and if all models or just select ones will support it, is still a mystery

How long does it take to charge your Z30 versus a plug in via the usb port?

I plug it in each night when it's at about 40%, next morning it's at 100%. My charger is vertical stand and I have clock showing.

Few times I've done a full recharge I didn't notice any difference. But I didn't really watch it. I guess I would have to say not enough difference you'd notice

You're implying that in Canada Qi charging doesn't work ? because you're Canadians ? or because of your geo-location tag ?

Hmm no because Verizon was the only carrier supporting Qi for the Z30.

I saw on TMZ last week "Breaking News", the iphone 6 might have wireless charging. They said if it did, it would be a game changer. How is it a game changer when wireless charging has been out of awhile now?

Seems like more of Apple being late to the party, but claiming "first".

That's correct. Verizon doesn't operate in Canada. The technology works, it just wasn't available for purchase here with the Z30.

The one benefit to that for us will be you'll see a lot more Wireless charging stands available.. everybody and their brother will make one for iPhone. That's assuming apple doesn't use some proprietary wireless charging tech that is incompatible with all other devices and opposed to the QI standard.. which come to think about it is likely.. so never mind.

I asked one of these people who have an eval unit and they said it didn't have it. But then again it is an eval unit and therefore isn't finalized and maybe things are disabled.

Wireless charging was something I thought of as a silly gimmick - until I tried it. It's awesome! I had an original Palm Pre on Sprint, bought on day 1 of sales, in large part because of the "touchstone" wireless charger. Spiffing piece of kit (the charger, not the Pre). I think I'd actually prefer a charging cradle as they hold the BlackBerry upright for easy reference, but wireless charging on a Qi pad is also pretty darn convenient.

here's another perspective - its too slow, and can sometimes disconnect without you knowing it has has during the night while charging. Waking up to a phone with a battery still flat for the day ahead made me think qi was little more than a gimmick and not a particularly well implemented one tbh

Perhaps that's more of a comment on the particular cradle or pad you were using.

This qi charger will do you good. The charging coil automatically moves to the spot to be charged.

Never had this issue. Have been using it on Z30 since release day. Perhaps as suggested charger issue?

perhaps. I think I did I say, a perspective, (and an opinion) nothing more. 2 I've had are like that though, and one was a fatboy pillow, hardly a cheap one. I simply advise caution to prospective buyers of jumping on a bandwagon. Nothing more
