I had a go with an i-Phone5S today, the dictation and transcription ability would make me consider one on that basis alone! As a 10 year BB user, I would love to be able to use same on my Bold though, and hopefully, on my Classic in a few months.

For those who don't know, you make a voicenote and it's transcribed instantly into a written note that you can them send via e-mail/message etc. Does anyone have any experiences/recommendations?

10.3 removes dictation on BlackBerry 10. The least known feature about BlackBerry 10 now is that there's built in dictation.

Simply open up a text editor or any app requiring text input. Next to the space find the "." key. Notice the microphone on the same key. Long press on that button to activate dictation mode.

I was impressed that my friend has a voice to text app on her I Phone thing. But I would not switch to that thing. I never follow the pack.
