So I plugged in my headphones today to get me home from work, and my z30 continually switches between headphones and speaker.

I attempted with another headphone set at home and also attempted to clean the jack with rubbing alcohol. Now now headphones are able to get an output. My z30 does not detect it.

I have attempted a hard reset and inspecting the audio jack as best as possible. The jack does not feel loose.

Any ideas?

This is a known non issue. Push the BlackBerry headset in good. It may seem tight but it should have a double click when pushed in.

And make sure you case isn't in the way.

Yeah I've tested with multiple head phones now, definitely in the whole way, I've had this z30 for months and it was even working earlier. Thinking is screwed.

Had the same issue today, but it was only because my headphones were broken. Maybe all the ones you tried had the same issue?

Dunno I'm having random results now, the headphones I've tried all work in my playbook fine.

There is a small metal flap that gets pushed aside when the plug is inserted into the jack. I've seen then get caught in the pushed in position. Look and see if you can see a small golden piece of metal slightly protruding into the jack hole. Try using a piece of plastic or a toothpick to see if it will release. I wouldn't recommend metal, JIC.

I actually had this odd issue with my URBEATS. But once I purchased a new headset of another brand, the problem went awaay.
