Dear Mr. Chen,

On my last trip to US 2 months ago, I bought a brand-new unlocked SQN 100-1 Q10 which I used in US for 1 month and then I returned to India.

I was very happy with the phone till 15 days ago, when the infamous auto double-typing and period-insertion errors started. I am a hardcore business user so inspite of this minor inconvenience (but significant irritation!) I persisted. Then 4 days ago, the "T" key fell off and 2 days ago the "Y" key fell off. Now, you can possibly imagine how this event would have rendered my BB completely unusable (I still managed to type without the "T" key - "copy-paste" but with two keys gone, it is beyond me now).

So, yesterday I went to the official BB support center, which you have outsourced to HCL (an Indian tech-giant with very questionable quality and delivery issues). The dude checked my phone and simply told me "FO, we don't service phones not bought in India". I even said "I will pay for all the expenses" but still got the shrug. Now, my simple question is what should I do? Just go to aftermarket repair folks even though I have 10 months of my warranty left?

I know you will tell me "read T&C, it doesn't mention International warranty". It must be true, though I am too dumb to read and make sense of it. But as a loyal Blackberry user (N7100v -> "Red Ironman BB 8310" -> BB 9800 -> BB 9790 -> BB 9320 -> BB 9360 -> BB Q5 -> BB Q10), I still wanted to check if my loyalty has any value.

Dont expect any help or even response. I sent an email to an email address for bb investor relation seeking help for my Q10 dialing on its own. I got an SOL reply and was told to buy extended service support charge for a phone that's 2 months old which TMobile has replaced for me 4 times!!!!

Sad, I badly need a keyboard so can't switch to iOS / Android even . Stuck with this, will goto aftermarket guys now.

Buy a keyboard thru ebay or one of the hardware stores that sell them online.

It's very easy and quick to do yourself. There are videos on YouTube with step by step instructions.

Just do a Google search for: Q10 keyboard replacement, and you'll get a bunch of hits.

Just speaks further to BlackBerrys horrendous customer support.

As the last poster mentioned, you'll have to order a keyboard and screwdriver set online and do it yourself. It's actually quite easy and there are step by step instructions on YouTube.

I'm on my 3rd keyboard. BlackBerry abandoned me after the second one. Have two more years on contract and a BlackBerry customer no more I will be.

i have a dead q10 bought from US (verizon). used for 45 days; it just won't boot. planning to salvage it by selling parts let me know if you need keyboard.
