i have purchased my Playbook 32GB 4G LTE from Ebay in India . It is support Micro-Sim and tried with micro-sim and PB showing like this "this phone has been blocked and cannot be used on the network (MM#6)".

What is this means , please let me know . Any way i can unlock it ?

Either it is going to need to be UNLOCKED just like some phones that have been locked to the original carrier. Search Unlock Codes - you'll have to pay to get this done - or contact the seller and see if he can do it (they should have).


Or it's been reported stolen and Wi-Fi is all it is capable of.

You can try... Here, normally only the carrier the phone came from is suppose to unlock a device. But there are 3rd party vendors that can do it, so really anyone with the right software can do it... it's just a matter of policies (I think).

If it's being blocked due to it was reported stolen - that is a different matter.

Have you tried a sim card from a different provider?
This error message has been reported in the UK by PlayBook users for sim cards from one particular provider, although sim cards from other providers work fine.
May just be a quirk or a glitch rather than anything sinister.

This issue has been fixed two ways.
1) Find another sim card and test. If the same thing, then your Sim card is not provisioned to work on a tablet. 4G Playbook are not locked. I have yet to see any. Also, your carrier may not support the frequencies required by the Playbook
2) This is also seen if your carrier supports GSM Internet, which the Playbook barely supports. In fact, very few tablets actually do.

Also, there is a strong possibility that the Playbook is Blacklisted. If you bought on Ebay, there are bunch of good for nothing thieves. Not the PB fault, just criminal sellers.

Hi I called to my carrier airtel, ask for IMEI they told it shows but can not provide customer and the playbook seen as prototype in thier database. Pls help me how can I connect it to internet.

It may depend on your network, but I can take the SIM out of my Q10, put it in the PlayBook and get LTE and 4G (HSPA+).

You should be able to read the imei of the plabook in one of the about screen and may even be printed on the sim tray area.

And why is the BSIS key shown as not found under settings-->hardware.?

No where written IMEI on the device but when I ask to carrier Airtel they told IMEI shows in thier database. Onething in my device under setting-about BSIS shows key not found.

Have you set the access point in the settings. Use the same access point you use for connecting internet via airtel.

Edit: Also, 4g ready sims are easily detected. So, try with those sim cards.

We have been fooled by that eBay seller, u can get a refund. He sells blocked/stolen PlayBook's, i got my refund!
