As I have been installing more Apps, the memory storage space on my device has been rapidly filling up.

Is there any way of moving Apps to the Media card?

I'm in the same boat. I've had to delete some less frequently used apps lately which isn't necessarily a bad thing as I really didn't use those apps anyway. One tip I have for you, store things like pictures, music, videos, documents on your media card whenever you can. This will free up some room on your 16gb device. Among other things, I'm anxiously waiting for the 32GB internal memory of the Passport.

I currently store all my music, photos and videos on the SD card. Looks like I may be able to move some offline maps as well, but that's about it.

Guess I will just have to limit the number of apps that I have. This will be a pity now that there's so many more available.

Keeping all applications on the device is one of the factors that makes BlackBerry 10 so secure.

Perhaps BlackBerry didn't anticipate, however, how much users would enjoy loading useful and well-made apps on to the phone. Or perhaps it had more to do with the expense of memory. I am nearly maxed for the device memory with business, engineering, travel, a few social and very few games, and there are very few I would want to get rid of. I already went through and purged as much as I could.

E.g. Navfree is a favourite with its offline detailed maps, but the databases are very large (1.3 Gb with 2 countries and 2 US states).

I, too, will make sure my next device has 32 Gb internal storage. Still, we are more than happy with our Q's and Z's as they are.

My problem is User Files at over 8G.

I noticed the User Files are not showing on your screen shot.

I just noticed something that will help us in freeing up some valuable device storage.

When you upgrade an app through Snap to the latest and greatest version, Snap does not automatically delete the old/current app. It just downloads the latest version of the app and stores the new APK file on your device storage while keeping the current version.

I'm cleaning up all my outdated APKs right now via my laptop. I have so many!

    That's better. I freed up over 600mb.

Another thing worth mentioning, Whatsapp backs up all your conversations daily and saves them to the device memory by default. Delete your old backup files and change the location these backup files are saved to your memory card.

Of course, this wouldn't be an issue if everyone just used BBM!

Open Snap and check where you have it set to save them. It's in the settings.

I've never become dependent on any apps outside of what's included with BlackBerry 10 except for CB10 and Pattern. BlackBerry 10 gives me what I need to live life.

I looked it up. There are a few clean master apps available. Care to share which one you used?

Sheesh, I ran into this same problem yesterday. It has to be apk's taking up space from updating and installing android apps.

For me, the apk's are stored here:

    File Manager/Device/downloads

When you update an app through Snap, make sure you go into your downloads folder and delete the old version of the app you just upgraded to.

A new discovery today: Box and ConnectToDropBox were taking up a huge amount of device storage (>1.2 Gb each) and I couldn't determine why as the files 'should' be stored in the clouds.

It turns out that both cloud apps will reserve device space for syncing, but it will remain 'locked' if the sync is not completed.

Last night I did a full sync with both apps, and regained more than a Gb of storage.

Especially if you have set Box/DropBox to auto-sync pictures and videos, make sure you allow the sync to complete.
