    I just received a notification on my phone about battery optimization app. Thought it was from BlackBerry but turns out it's from a 3rd party. Can't believe I'm getting spam on a BB.

    Is the app from the Jared Company? If so, they will spam you like crazy about their apps.

    What email are you using? That is where spam is coming from, not BB nor any other phone.

    It was a S4BB app. It didn't come in my mailbox. it was under "notifications" in the hub and looked like a service announcement.

    Go into Notifications in Settings and turn off all notifications for that app. I've had a few apps that I've had to do this for, though not so much for spam.
