China cyberattacked our science agency: Canada - TOI Mobile | The Times of India Mobile Site

Hey guys.. just found this article while surfing the net, as mentioned in the article China hacked into many of the Canadian firms, I doubt few of them were on BlackBerry too(just a guess) can BES10 get hacked??? As this news comes straight from Blackberry's Birth place.

I think it's a valid question. The term "computer" may be applied in a more general sense. Maybe the OP's original question should have been: Can a BES server be hacked?

I'm pretty certain the authorities will have a look at sensitive data on mobile devices, and will include mobile devices in the scope of the investigation.

Chances are if Blackberry was involved in providing security services for the hacked devices, they would have made a point to mention it. That would be pretty big news considering the media clean up and reputation patching Blackberry would have to do as a result

It had nothing to do with phones. It was computers. Friend of mine had an abbreviated work day thanks to this.

Sorry, can't use this one to attack Apple/Android.

That's a problem with BB10 devices if you BYOD...you have no security on personal or business devices by default by putting a sim in them where as pre-10 devices needed BIS service books to let the Internet browser icon to even show up on the handset, thus security was tight by default.

People already started bringing into it BYOD.

And no, SHE isn't anti-BB, just anti the usual rhetoric around here.

Huh? The only comment about BYOD I see in this thread was posted after yours, and is actually critical of BB10.

Don't you love how folks read the entire thread ...bring on the trolls. I don't think anyone was attacking anybody here outside of China attacking Canadian Businesses.

I'm pretty sure a smartphone is technically speaking a computer. Though that's probably not what the article is talking about.
