My Z30 is working fine except for one concern. Has latest OS update from Telus my carrier. Had Mireo installed but ReMoved it

My memory usage is at 8.8 Gig
System 2.37G, Apps 1.5G all seem reasonable.

    Has anyone experienced this before?

Any suggestions on how to reduce the user memory allocation.
    Fre space is 491MB

I use my Z30 for business mostly so a complete wipe is not an option. I don't mess with early OS releases etc.

Do a hard reset, by holding the volume buttons down until you see the loading circle.

Does a hard reset cause data or app loss?

I've tried a hard reset several times without success. User memory is still over 8 Gigs.

Someone suggested a reload of the OS.

Using the latest official OS. 27??

An average user so can some one provide me with reliable steps to reload the OS.

What about apps, data, SD card.
Best option for backing up first.

    Thanks in advance

You could probably just do a backup, security wipe, and restore. That might fix it. I'd try it first.
Maybe even consider not doing a full restore afterwards, just in case the backup brings back whatever is taking up the extra space.
If that doesn't work, I think BlackBerry Link provides an option to reload the current OS.
That way you don't have to deal with autoloaders.

Perhaps you have some apps that have cached a lot of data. I think if you look at how much space individual apps are taking you may find some are quite high. Check the CB app for example. There is a setting in the app to clear cache.

    Good idea.
Will try that right away. Less catastrophic than the other suggestions.

Thanks to all for your suggestions.

    I found the problem.
When I restored earlier my music files which are stored on the SD card were duplicated in device memory.

What made it hard to find was the file name "SD-Card Music..........

    This may help someone else.

    Thanks again.

Glad you found the problem before resorting to more drastic measures.
