You know what i would find useful? Having my phone "ding" (notification) when a selected contact on my BBM reads my message.

Would anyone else find that useful?

Not me, no. Also, if you have over two convos going on, the purpose is lost as you can't really tell who is reading what.

I guess I kinda seen it as an on call basis. Where you would send the message, and long press it and select notify.

They use to have that option for BBM on the older BBOS. You can set an "alert" on a contact & when they read your message it would alert you. I really miss that feature. I never understood why they took it away.

Specially for cross-platform when msgs don't go through when the app is closed.

I had 'watcher' installed for customized LED notifications and the LED also flashes when a message was marked 'R'.

It wasn't an extra option or feature of the app, maybe the dev integrated it by accident.
