When I send a picture (MMS) to my friends the past few weeks, they all complain that they're lo-res/pixelated. Is there some sort of compression going on in my Z10? Is it an option I can toggle? Or could this even be my service provider (T-Mobile)? When I e-mail them the pictures, they come out fine.

There's a file size limit on MMS, usually less than 1 MB, and is dependent on your carrier. So yes, the file will always get compressed when the size exceeds the limit.
