I'm debating on those two. I am a Blackberry lover but kinda wanna try out Sony Z2. What do you say?

It really depends on a few things; How much do you value a better camera, screen quality, and the waterproofing. Also. Z2 mini is also avail, so there's the size selection as well.

The Z2 is a much better piece of technology in just about every category and full compatibility with Android Apps.

The Z30 is a BlackBerry with the BB10 OS and the HUB and is a very powerful communications tool.

watch out the Z2, it has a great battery life too and way more powerful but at the end of the day, I choose Z30 because there are something very difficult to describe but I LOVE BB

I also thought about buying the Z2. Nice design and waterproof. The reason I stick to my Z30 is the Hub and the great battery life of the BlackBerry. And, after having owned some 10 or so Android devices I got tired of this OS. Flashing Android custom ROMs can be sort of a hobby but I don't have the time anymore.

At the end of the day the difference is the Hub which makes the Z30 special.

I wanted a Z2 as well, but I ended up buying the Z30 and saved myself some cash in the process. So far I'm very pleased with how Z30.

Call me insane but the fact that some people ask on a bb fan forum what phone they should get suggests two things
1. They already subconsciously made up their mind to get a bb but want approval from people who like it
2. They want to see why everyone likes the bb device they're hesitating to get

In any case, the results will always lean towards "bb rules y'all" simply because this is a bb fan forum.

If you really want to know what kind of phone you want and are hesitating to get a z30, get it. If you aren't extremely in love with it like the rest of us, switch to the z2 before the 14 days as you'll definitely enjoy it if you didn't like the z30.

I saw the Sony Z2 and it is a great phone. Having said that there is something about the Z30 that keeps me with BlackBerry. The hub is awesome for sure. But it is straight up an awesome communication device. I have in the last year owned and sold Samsung S5, HTC One M8, and iPhone 5S. The only one i would buy again is the iPhone cause i really enjoy pop up twitter notification tweets. So my advice stick with Z30 and get the leaked 10.3 OS for the android apps

Well the Z30 has better speakers (I've heard them side by side), better battery life, micro hdmi, a design on par or even better imho, and the full might if BB10 behind it.

Plus the Z30 is 28 Zs more than the Z2.

I think your answer is pretty clear.

I have both, but beside the known positives of Z2, there are also some negatives. Mainly poor call quality, like really miserable sound quality from the earpiece during call, not 100 % software quality (sometimes bit erratic) and I personally would question quality. My Z2 died after couple of weeks (touch screen fault, no response to touch at all). I am now waiting for response from the service. I believe it died after I took some pictures in water (not a first time, but this time died) and based on the Sony response I will judge whether waterproof is just a marketing or Sony stands behind this.

Try the Z2. You can always come back to BlackBerry if you don't like it. I plan to get either the Z2, or perhaps the Z3 if it is released when my Z10 contract is up at the end of the year. At worst if I don't like them I will always have my Z10 to fall back on to.

I'd the Xperia z1 before I got the z30.

I prefer z30 for some strange reason. The Z1 has better spec in almost every category but z30 and bb10 just works. Love the hub and the overall performance of z30.

Having said that my wife thought I was crazy to go from z1 to BlackBerry. sony was better looking amazing camera and beautiful display. She is a big iPhone person but the only non iPhone she liked was the xperia z1.

I guess you can try both and see what you like best
