Is this true? I myself am American and stick up for BlackBerry daily with iPhone users. I'm with a couple buds and asked all three of them where their iPhone was assembled. I told them I thought it was assembled outside the US which should be embarrassing if any of them knew. Any idea?

I need to know where my z30 was assembled. I really can't b*tch if it's assembled in the same country. I would assume it's Canada.

Apple phones should be assembled in America. My bud just said to save $ and I asked them asked how much the phone would cost if assembled here in the states $1400? LoL

BlackBerry's are made in Canada and Mexico. The new BlackBerry's (Z3 for now) are being made by Foxconn which I believe is the same company Apple uses. And yes, Foxconn is in China.

It should be printed on the box you've got your phone in. My Q10 was assembled in Mexico.

Ok... iPhone's have never been made in any other country other than CHINA. Remember, look on almost any Apple device and it clearly stays: "Designed in California".... "Assembled in China".

Considering the iPhone has the largest profit of any smartphone in the world, you figure that a California based company would take some pride and bring, or have, something other than their G5 towers made in the U.S.A.

As far as cost is concern... I heard from some friends of mine who work for Cisco Systems in the Bay Area, which makes a lot of components for Apple devices, say that to make the iPhone in the U.S. that Apple would have to realign their entire supply chain. To do that it would take several billion to do.

Not sure what that would translate into increased cost on the iPhone, but I would image considering the iPhone has close to 40% margin of profit in it that it would not be a significant amount.

That is correct... Foxconn is the company that Apple uses for the iPhone.

Yeah, phones are/were also assembled in Hungary. In the case of BlackBerry 10 phones it's mostly the European variants that are/were assembled there.
