Only if the phone was branded to AT&T.

Factory unlocked phones always got the latest available OS, even if that phone has an AT&T SIM. This has always been the case and nothing new.

The operative words being "factory unlocked". The OP's phone is such a phone.

If the phone was sold by AT&T, and thus locked to AT&T, unlocking it after the fact would not help. The only way to get an OTA update in that case would be getting a SIM card from another carrier with the latest OS release.

I am learning from this conversation. I stated that my Q10 was "unlocked" but must confess I don't fully know what that means. Phone was won in BBRY "Keys to the City" promo. I provided carrier info as AT&T. Update has been out for others a while. If "unlocked" means timely updates from BBRY, why yesterday over ATT network?

I received the updated OS 10.2.1.2977 this morning for my Q10 and Z10. 119 MB's for the Q and 955 MB's for the Z. Both of my BB's are unlocked devices purchased from BlackBerry. I'm in Denver, CO on AT&T by the way.

All my phones are factory unbranded unlocked Z10, ,Q10, ( 2) Z30's, and that has not been my experience. I guess mileage may vary.

I don't think they get rolled out all at once. My phone was bought from and locked to AT&T. So I'm only going from past posts in this forum.

Many forum members here who have factory unlocked phones on the AT&T network have always gotten the latest updates that the rest of the world would get. Not immediately, but within a week or two. It happened with the last major 10.2.1 update - the one that AT&T waited several months to officially release after the rest of the world already had it - including many on AT&T with factory unlocked phones.

That seems to be case here as well with the OP. Specific carriers roll out first, then the factory unlocked phones get them. But, it may not be the same order every time either.

The phone is factory unlocked and unbranded - usable with any carrier anywhere (as long as they matched the model with the carrier frequency set). They only asked you what carrier you were going to use the phone on so they could get you the right model with the right frequencies that AT&T uses for cellular and LTE data..

I have an AT&T Branded phone and have not received any updates from AT&T. The only way I can get an update is by installing a leak from the very kind people on Crackberry.

I have AT&T sim cards in my unlocked Q10 and Z10 that I purchased from BlackBerry and I received the 10.2.1.2977 update OTA today. My rep with AT&T has an unlocked AT&T branded phone and she has not received the update.
