Ive been wondering why the passport doesnt have the spacebar icon on the spacebar key.

Is it because it maybe a thumb print sensor?

Can anyone add in?

Nope. You guys give BlackBerry too much credit. Everything that has been leaked shows all the major features already. Only minor changes from here on out.

Even if it was it isnt rocket science. Im not even sure I want a thumbprint sensor to be honest.

I hope not. The whole biometrics thing is a dumb gimmick. Never had it on on my iPhone 5S either.

Had the iPhone 5s for 3 months and had to recalibrate thumbprint 3 times.
Of course when I mentioned it to the apple trainers, the only thing they had to say was that it was either the OS which had not been done or dirty fingers....
Yes of course, there must be an app for your bull****....
And it is far from being biometrics.....very far.....

Plenty of people will think bb is doing something and is catching up, so i think adding a fingerprint sensor will help attract many consumers. However, i dont see myself using a fingerprint scanner, pic password all the way!

I pray to god it isn't. Thats the one tech I don't wanna see BB adopt. Terrible. So many walk arounds that. Girlfriend grabs your phone while ur sleeping and taps your thumb and boom she knows your cheating.

Oh btw the space bar is the NEW TRACK PAD. For the Passport. This was discussed already to pinpoint text and things.

You guys do realize that a finger print scanner could be optional to enable right?!
I've seen it work almost flawlessly on an iPhone and would not mind having it at all.

Anyway, its unlikely that it would happen at this stage

That's because the technology used by apple is stupid as ****.
The real fingerprint sensors require a motion, they are a small metal strip (that could fit into the spacebar) that scan the finger.
Usually you find them on laptop, and they are really useful and time saving.

And unlike the stupid apple fingerprint sensor, you don't leave the fingerprint on it.
