I was all excited to try out .700, even knowing that it had some issues. I loaded it, loaded the missing .bars and loved the changes (text messages, etc.).

The android runtime was great even though I still couldn't use it to directly connect to my Withings Pulse and use the app (app worked, and the Pulse connected by Bluetooth, but it wasn't able to access the app to upload stats). Still, that didn't work on .296 either.

The only issues I had were related to battery power. I got more than a day with .296, and was very impressed with its battery life (better than 10.2, and better than 10.3.0.140), but .700 seems to be a step back.

I haven't seen many complaints about .700 battery life, so I was wondering if this was just because of a bad flash or something. Maybe a reflash would take care of the issue. Has anyone else noticed significantly decreased battery life when they upgraded from .296 to .700?

I don't think it's bad, but I so notice I am using it a lot more cause of the new os that I like, give it a while until the novelty is gone from the os and I think you will find it the same.

    Mines also really bad.
It seems that it drains a LOT of power in standby even at low brightness and airplane mode on

I know this is going to sound strange, but leave your BT on Wifi on and leave it on lte , I leave these on all the time and since 7:00am this morning and I'm at 80% now and it's about 1:30pm right now,

Well, it's early days yet, but a reflash seems to have helped the battery life. It will be a day or so before I can confirm that the reflash helped, but the early returns are hopeful.

I'm running the .700 leak now for what, a week? And I have also noticed my battery life to be weaker then with the .296 leak.

It seems flaky to me. It seems like the reading of the battery is out of whack. Mine stays high, then drops like a rock, suddenly sometimes. I thought it was some app I had running or something.. but yeah, it's not just you.

After running .700 for a couple of days, it seems to have stabilized - I get less than a day with a single charge. It seems to be enough to get me through the day with moderate use, but there's no way it is as good as .296.

No big deal. They'll probably fix it once 10.3 gets close to release.

Leaving your Wi-Fi on when it's connected makes sense because Wi-Fi uses less power than LTE/4G/3G but leaving your BT on and not doing anything would only drain more battery for no reason.

I had mine running on a Q5 and the battery life was good. I would get 2 days use... This device was a work phone with Exchange email configured and no apps. Placed and received many calls and emails.

I've only tried 10.3.0.700 but it is a step down noticeably in battery life from 10.2.1.2102 that I was on for months before.

It's not as bad as some earlier 10.0 and 10.1 builds for battery but not amazing.

    Speed is great for Android.

I did set up my multiple email accounts with 5 minute refresh, which probably is a factor. I normally leave it the default which is 15 minutes I believe. So PIM is my 2nd biggest battery drain on average.

I may try dialing it back since I also have push on.

I generally always get email fastest on my Z10 anyway. It never takes 15 minutes to get a new Gmail or Hotmail, and my corporate email via Exchange hits my BlackBerry before my desktop all the time, even if it is just a couple of seconds faster.

And they didn't upgrade to BES for BlackBerry 10. Just ActiveSync.

Just not sure how much that will matter in the end...

Battery life does seem a bit poorer, memory usage is better controlled by the system, but over usage seems that the system may crash and turn off the device all together. Mind you, this only really occurs when using the browser a lot, and taking up 300mb in memory for it. Force closing it from the device monitor usually free's up memory however.

I finally couldn't handle the shorter battery life and downgraded to .296, but I did add the new Android runtime.

I liked what I saw from .700, so I'll be waiting for a new leak (or the actual 10.3 release, depending on which comes first).

I noticed a random rapid drain on .700 on my z10 but .296 on my z30 is still decent happy days can't wait for the kinks to be ironed out in the official release. Go Blackberry

I've been running mine as well for about 6 days or so and it was great till 2 nights ago. My "PIM service" jumped from an average of 1.4% over a 24 hour period to 25% and higher. Not sure what is going on but until the next leak I will have to use my Nexus.

I get a lot out of this on my Q10:

Anyone else notice that 10.3.0.700 has a much shorter battery life than 10.3.0.296?-img_20140722_172516.jpeg

Used with only 1 Exchange email and no apps. Moderate phone calls.
