Hey,

Anyone have any luck casting Netflix to Chromecast with a Z10? I bought the CAST native app and it will cast you tube with the share feature. Reviews in the CAST app said it worked with Netflix too, but that is crap. I've been trying to get the android app to work, tried various versions, but no dice. I hear it works in 10.3, but I'm just running the latest 10.2.1.

If anyone has any tricks, please let me know. Casting with my kids ipod is great, looking for a similar experience.

I have ony ever been able to cast from youtube on my Z30, of course I have not tried 10.3, nor will I until it's a little more mature.

I have the latest update for Netflix and it casts to Chromecast perfectly.

No tips or tricks. Sorry. It just works.

My son has a Z10 and my wife has a Q10. Neither works.

One thing I did try to do before it started working was to install the Chromecast app on my phone.
The app never did load properly, but maybe it triggered the cast to show up in Netflix. Who knows? Give it a shot.

I have the same version of z10... still no dice.

I got an older version of the chrome cast app to work on my phone but it can't find the chrome cast.

I've tried everything. Installed Google services and play APK. Nothing works, giving up... And that's hard me me to do haha.

Oh well I guess I have to wait for 10.3.

Bla1ze, did you download your version of Netlix from the snap app, or from amazon? It's interesting to see how some devices work and some don't. I have both a Z30 and a Q10 and the casting icon shows up perfectly every time on my q10, but it does not work with my Z30. Both are on the same OS' (10.2.1.3247), so it may boil down to where you get Netflix from. My q10 got Netflix from the amazon store, but my z30, I used snap. Could this be the difference?

That is an interesting point. It did not work on my Z10; it didn’t show up in the Netflix app or Google’s ChromeCast app. However, it suddenly appeared within Netflix at some point, presumably when I updated my version about a week ago.

Videos should work fine, just can't sent to a chromecast, yet.... come on 10.3

I also got Netflix to work by downloading the most recent version from 1Mobile Market. I thought it was because I installed an app called Cast. It was meant to help cast YouTube videos from the built in share menu. I then took my wife's device and opened Netflix and she could also see the Casting icon on Netflix. So it looks like BlackBerry supports this natively with the Android runtime.

I did turn off all my media sharing but I have not done a lot of testing. I will try to do more testing to see what it was that let me do this. Also I know its a given but if your Chrome Cast is not on the network properly then the icon wont show up of course. It will only show if one is present and seeable on your network from what I have read!

The new version has nothing to do with it. Netflix has proprietary code in it to connect to your Chrome Cast for over a year now. If you have a version that was made in the last year then you will see the cast icon at the top of Netflix. Make sure you turn off all Media Sharing as that seems to allow this to happen.

Works for me since late versions of 10.2. I'm now on 10.3 with latest Netflix from Snap. I do have the chrome cast app installed on my Z10, but it doesn't work. Not sure if it works in the background to force the chrome cast to show in Netflix...

The Chrome Cast application has nothing to do with the Netflix app. As I mentioned Netflix has proprietary code in it that talks directly to the Chrome Cast. As long as you are on the same network, the chrome cast is setup. You have to turn off all media sharing and it should work.

Since the latest Netflix updates, I was not seeing the cast Icon in Netflix. It was working for some, but not for me and a few other users in the forums. I was playing around with older versions, and I just installed version 3.4.0 and casting works again! I found it here: Netflix 3.4.0 APK for Android - Direct Download Link - APK Releases.

For some reason in the last week mine has also stopped working on my Z10. Both my chrome casts are not seen anymore. I tried downloading the version you said but still no luck. I think Netflix changed their code on the Chrome Cast because I don't remember updating my Netflix and it just stopped working. I am wondering if Netflix is doing this on purpose
They have always had it out for BlackBerry, if so it's sad and if I find this out i will be dropping Netflix faster then anything. I am getting sick of Netflix playing this stupid game and ignoring us...
