Does anyone have any information on whether AT&T will get either of these two phones? I'm not so sure given their lack of interest in the Z30 and BlackBerry lately.

I hear your concern. AT&T is already circling the drain in my book. I don't think anybody knows yet what devices will be supported or sold by which carriers.

I've been wondering the same thing. I've got a Verizon z30 on AT&T. I've tweeted them just about a hour ago. Haven't heard back yet

It's not going to surprise me if it's impossible to find a demo unit to play with in the states. From any carrier. If BlackBerry stays in business the best we can hope for is importing from Canada and inserting the SIM of your choice.

I hope I'm wrong. I hope at least one carrier has a Classic and Passport to see in person.

Good luck! They didn't even bother carrying the Z30. Thus, I'd say chances are slim.

Better question is whether BlackBerry will learn their lesson and make these new phones available to as many carriers as possible from the get go, as well as offering unlocked versions as well.

One of the problems with BlackBerry phones on AT&T is that the users tend not to smash their phones, and use them until the phones are found to be considerably lacking when compared to more recent offerings. I bought a new 8900 when I started my service, and didn't upgrade until the Z10 came out. In the interim, I had used a couple secondhand BBs, which didn't make RIM any money other than whatever was retrieved from my data plan charges.

Another problem is, BlackBerry is invisible to AT&T. Who cares if they're reliable, durable, and functional? The public isn't lying, cheating, and stealing to get them.

At this point, it's questionable if those devices even come to the US. All the BlackBerry hype seems to be about how well units are selling in Indonesia, Europe or some 3rd world country.

So if you were eligible for an upgrade on AT&T and didn't use it then didn't AT&T save money? If you had upgraded, they would have had to pony up about $500-$600 for a phone and charge you $200. I always understood that $12 to $15 of my monthly AT&T data charge went towards subsidizing my next upgrade.

It's a good chance at least one will. ATT caters a LOT of enterprise customers, so knowing these are focused to that market means $$$.

I could see AT&T getting the Classic.

Not so sure about the Passport.

Maybe the next full touch, but it's obvious that they've skipped the Z30.

RE Z30, I believe someone at ATT or with knowledge of ATT inner decisions stated they skipped the Z30 in favor of a "better" future device.

AT&T brags about having the widest selection of smartphones out of all the carriers, so I hope they decide to carry the Passport and Classic. Come on, if they decided to offer exclusivity on the HTC First "Facebook phone", ASUS PadFone X, and Amazon Fire phone, Moto X, and other random FAILED phones, they BETTER carry BlackBerry if they know what's good for them!!!

Have BlackBerry and AT&T addressed their future plans together in ANY capacity? Announcement? Leaked office memo? (Hell. I'd be content with a shady rumor at this point.) Some of us customers with upgrades need to know what is happening here.

This kind of feels like calling your girlfriend 25 times and getting voicemail with no call backs.

I don't need to know specific dates, but I absolutely need to know if the relationship still exists. As an aside, I think CrackBerry ought to investigate American carriers' intention with BlackBerry.

I think we can assume that the strategy is going to be "wait and see". This isn't the kind of device that is going to have much competition in the extra-wide with keyboard segment. Nobody is going to be in a hurry with this one except for BlackBerry and CrackBerry.

There is no information about BlackBerry phones or software updates. Users of the phones know before employees of AT&T. The store I bought my Z10 from didn't even know that they had come out, and were surprised to see that FedEx had delivered a box full of them ten minutes before I had arrived.

With blackberry sales in the states being way down I would think most carriers would opt out at first but hopefully when the new devices get some attention they will come back.
As long as 10.3 runs as good as they say and with android apps running better the devices should sell!
