Can someone assist ..on how to remove duplicate contacts on BB Z10?

Touch and hold 1 of the multiple contacts, when the menu slides in from the side choose "select more" (bottom icon) then when you have chosen all the multiple contacts of the same name hit the icon with the chain to link them...job done

Tht's how I did it:
1. placed all contacts in Google contacts (outlook.com services are also good)
2. Remove duplicate contacts by using their online option to detect and merge duplicate contacts.
3. Sync them with BlackBerry phone
Done!

Ok, so how do you do it when I should only have 700 contacts, but my Z10 keeps duplicating them to the point where I have over 10,000 (that's ten thousand) contacts?

Does anyone recommend an app that actually works and doesn't try to get you to pay more once you download the first one to get it actually merge the contacts?

Do you sync with any email that keeps your contacts? Is there anyplace that just seems to have one or, at least, many fewer copies that you could use to restore? BBlink backup, Outlook or gmail.com or ???
