    Hello everyone,

I couldn't help myself, so I went ahead and loaded up the latest dev release (10.3.0.700) and proceeded to try out the Android apps that don't work quite 100%. This includes Fitbit; I own a Fitbit One which, to this day, I sync using a variety of devices. Of course, what I really want, or wanted, was to have it sync to my Z10 rather than having to keep a Windows box up and running or wait until I got home so it could sync to my Nexus 7.

Well, today I'm happy to report that my Fitbit now syncs perfectly with the latest dev release. Note the screenshots below, during and after a sync.

    Fitbit One on 10.3.0.700 : It Works!!-z10_fitbit_syncing.png

And it just keeps on happily synchronizing my devices as I walk (or run, or whatever).

Now if I could just get Google+ working, I'd have it all.

That's awesome! I'm glad to see the android runtime is continually being improved.

That is awesome to see because I was actually just looking into purchasing a FitBit product...how do you like the One? I was leaning towards the wristband (Flex), but the One has the steps tracker which I do a lot of stairs in my training so that would be great to have...too bad the Force is recalled!

That is amazing to see BB10 - Android Runtime getting that much better!

I've been using the One for just over six months and I like it quite a bit. One feature I thought I would never use is the sleep tracking, something it turns out is more useful than I anticipated. It's a good robust product. I just keep it in my pocket and more or less forget about it.

I may actually consider one of these.. I currently use a combination of edmendo and myfitnesspall.. but I often forget to load up edmondo before walking the dog or other activities, so my tracking is so so.. having it on my wrist would definitely make it easier.

You mentioned it syncs to your phone constantly.. must it? and if so does the app always have to be running? Can you just sync manually when you open the app, or set it to sync once or twice a day?

It doesn't have to at all. You can sync once a day if that's what you want, or if you don't happen to have your device handy. I was trying to emphasize that it can be allowed to run and sync continuously, if you want. My Fitbit One is pretty much impossible to read in the bright sunshine, so if I wanted to check progress when I was on a walk, I'd have to wait to get indoors or until I got home to sync. It's not the end of the world, obviously, but it's nice to be able to check when you want to.

Interesting. I'd seen a post about this, but I was never able to recreate the magic to make it work; at least not with my Fitbit One.

This is certainly great news, I'm glad BB are finally investing proper time and money into the runtime

I couldn't find a thread for asking about other Android apps that previously didn't work, so sorry for hijacking this one - but has anybody tried Memrise yet? I could never get beyond the login screen (and even only get to that if I was lucky). Hemnet.se also was a bit ropey. If any of you beta users have a few minutes to check, that would be very much appreciated!

The main reason why this now works is because the runtime now supports bluetooth 4.0 low energy. The app has worked previously, just without the ability to sync.

Unless the apps you mention have a dependency such as the above, they're compatability is unlikely to have changed. This is true of Microsoft OneNote as an example.

Are you running .700 OS? Or running a different OS with. 700 runtime?

I have the. 296 base OS and. 700 runtime and it will not sync!

I'm running the full 700 OS. Don't forget to turn Bluetooth on before you launch the app, I had problems when I turned it on afterwards.

It was syncing for me on 296 with some side loaded BARs but no longer syncs. I don't know if 296 has general bluetooth issues though as it loses connections with paired devices and paired devices sometimes stop working properly. It's not the devices as I've tested with other phones.

I've noticed the same. It said connected and then there was an error after and wouldn't sync. Oh well it will come soon enough!

I did a fresh install, after security wipe, of the 700 release, then added the new bars as recommended. I didn't knowingly add any 296 bars. Prior to this install, it wasn't working for me either.

Straight 296 with no additional bars. Syncs fine for me. I tried adding the 700 Android runtime and ended up wiping and reloading 296.

I can also confirm that the app syncs again with 10.3.0.700 (With the 710 BARs). Have it working on a test device. It no longer syncs though on 296 (with BARs injected). Looking forward to the next full OS 10.3 leak.
