Okay guys, I need your help. BB fan for the past 8 years here (and member of this site for maybe 5 years), currently on a Q10 on the EE network in the United Kingdom.

So I was reading some bbm's on my Q10, and suddenly each open program (browser, contacts, diary, facebook) closed itself one by one, and then the phone switched off. The battery was on approx 14%. Before this happened, I started to think that i needed to either plug him in or swap batteries shortly.

When this happened, I did swap batteries. Nothing. No red light coming on (when you press and hold the power button, as normally happens after changing battery). Nothing whatsoever.

Thinking that maybe I'd made a mistake and #2 battery hadn't been charged, I went to my stand-alone charger and pulled out battery #3 which was just about fully charged.

    Still nothing.

    Please help me!

I have had this Q10 just over a year, so it may be out of warranty. Also, two weeks ago I cracked the screen, so there's no way I can send him in for warranty work, as it will immediately void the warranty (if there is one).

Does anyone have some steps I can try, please? I currently have the battery out of the phone, and I'm leaving it for 5 minutes, as recommended somewhere upon googling.

Before that, with the battery out, I could plug the power lead into it, and the yellow LED would flash once.

Thanks guys. I'm lost without my Q

So you can or have gotten the yellow led to flash once, other than that it does nothing.

I would put the best battery you have in and then plug it into a charger you know is working. Let it sit over night (or a few hours) and see what happens.

That said I wouldn't be surprised if the crack in your screen could be an issue.

    That does make sense.

I have found a local repair place near me Blackberry Repair Price List | Yorkshire Repairs so I shall head there tomorrow to get the screen sorted perhaps.

had the same problem a few months ago. my q10 was just dead without any reason. no red light; maybe a random yellow flash, if I plugged my charger in and out for a couple of times. they checked the battery, which was fine, and, eventually, had to replace it completely.

Question: How long is the original battery life provided you charge accordingly as needed without waiting below 20%?

Poor. Its always been poor. 5 hours on a good day. See my thread from last year.

Anyway, an update on my device: i took it into a local express repair centre whom I trust, on Thursday. It is actually very poorly. In addition to the cracked screen, they found internal water damage (red tabs activated), the power button required robotic soldering, the IC was bent, and it also requires a new ICEE chip.

They sent it to their specialist repair centre in Manchester, and I am optimistic of it coming back tomorrow. The price is reasonable too.
