I can't seem to find any pics of the passport, or the classic for that matter, which show off a micro hdmi port!

Does anyone have some insight on this?

If I read correctly, the new BB10 phones will utilize the Micro USB port to pass video through to a HDMI cord.

It will still support HDMI, but it won't have a separate input on the phone.

Why would you be disappointed? It serves the same purpose and saves the need for another input on your device...

You can still charge your phone if that's your concern, the USB > HDMI adapter will have a USB input in it for charging.

Because now I need to buy a new cable or adapter. Looks like they are going the route that samsung did with the mhl adapter. I have multiple devices that utilize micro hdmi, so it's nice having 1 cable for all.

Typically you cannot charge and use USB data at the same time. Video being the exception. Personally having to carry adapters for everything is a pain.

Would be better if they had a charging dock for wireless charging while at the same time using NFC to transfer data from phone to computer.

Okay, to clarify:
*Video out with Slimport (not MHL, they're different)
*USB OTG works, but I doubt it will work while outputting video

I agree.
Having an hdmi out is excellent for presentations. Common input on projectors. And a separate power in is added insurance no matter if using usb or hdmi. The micro plugs are fragile enough....the adaptor probably adds more stress. One can end confusion of which way up on cord with a dab of nail polish. Another gaget to get and loose.

I'm disappointed too some of us heavy users may run low on battery when it is time to do a presentation. Well that always happens to me but then I'm using a Z10.

Just went through this and took a few threads to get it all right. Thanks again R1cowl. I have Amazon Prime and here is what I ordered; already received and work great on the Passport and Z30. No blacking out; watched a full movie in HD. The one for the Passport included the adapter, the HDMI cable, and a USB charger. Very reasonably priced and I was very surprised at the high quality. Comes with a one year warranty as well...

That's a MHL adapter, you need a Slimport adapter; well, the OP from 2014 needs a Slimport adapter, not sure why this thread is dug up.
