Is there a way to get the Android Google Calendar app to work as the default BB10 calendar?

I can install it through SNAP but it's blank and I can't figure a way to sync an existing calendar with it on my Z10.

No. But you can get sunrise calendar, which imo is much better and syncs with many different accounts, including google.

That said, BlackBerry also will support google calendar in its native calendar app, which I also feel is superior than google calendar.

You can go to Settings, Accounts, add new account (the symbol with the @ and the +), select Email, Calendar and Contacts. Then add your Gmail email address. This works to add your Gmail account email, calendar and contacts.

It's for my sister who likes to read the beginning of the meeting instead of looking of dots or growing numbers. The Google Calendar has this.

The Sunrise app installed on my z10 will not show appointments in the monthly view. Appointments can only be seen in the listed view below it. I have it synch with my icloud account and my ipad. Is the absence of the monthly view a bug?
