Ok, so BB is now partnered with Amazon for content. So what is next?

Amazon needs to help BB sell phones! Why would they do this when they are launching a phone today?
    Simple:

    1. It is an AT&T exclusive, there are a lot of Verizon customers out there buying content elsewhere. By pushing Verizon BB10 phones they are greatly expanding their potential customer base.

    2. The Amazon phone is not a revenue stream, rather a means to link customers to their content. Why do they care if a person has a Amazon or BB10 phone, they both are buying content from Amazon in the end.

The Amazon phone is an ATT only item. Not the app store.

Good theroy, except pretty much every single Verizon wireless Android smartphone already launches with the Amazon app store preloaded on it. BB10 will make up a tiny fraction of the devices on Verizon with Amazon's app store.

Exactly my point, they are selling the Amazon phone to AT&T customers only. So Amazon can push BB10 phones with their store preloaded to Verizon, Sprint, T Mobile, etc...customers to expand their reach.

Yes, however movies and music are now through Amazon on BB10. Have to think that is where Amazon is going to be making the most cash, not apps.

They're never going to promote BB phones over their own. When a carrier works out an exclusivity deal, it isn't to sell new hardware to their current subscribers, it's to bring in new subscribers that really want the exclusive hardware.

Amazon is going to be pumping their hardware, not someone else's.

How do you come to the conclusion that Amazon is in any way obliged to push BB devices?

As well, If Amazon has an exclusive deal with AT&T and their new phone... I have a feeling AT&T would have some seriously harsh words for Amazon the moment they helped push devices on competing carriers.

Sorry to sound harsh but this is a "deal" that costs Amazon nothing, they don't get much out of it, won't put much into it, and don't much care either. Especially now they have their own point of sale system masquerading as a phone out there. The press release yesterday was a sop to BBRY. Nothing more.

Those are preloaded on Verizon devices as well. It's all part of the "Amazon app suite" bloatware that pretty much everyone hates, but Verizon still forces on their Android using customers.

I'm hoping Amazon brings FireFly to BlackBerry 10, and also to open up the Amazon Prime services to Canadians and make them accessible via BlackBerry 10 smartphones.
