Not quite. The STA100-5 is the most compatible option, but it's not fully compatible with AT&T's LTE either. It's missing their primary LTE band 17. But you are much, much more likely to see LTE on AT&T with a -5 than a -2.

STA100-2 - You will not get LTE speeds on AT&T, but you will get 4G throughtout the US.
STA100-5 - You will get LTE speeds on AT&T in may areas, but there are more metros that use a different band, so you'll only get 4G. Check out this forum for a running list of LTE vs. non-LTE metros for the 100-5: http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...cities-918436/

The only place I've ever seen LTE with my -5 (unlocked from ShopBlackBerry) is LAX. Still, AT&T 4G seems plenty fast.

What does it matter? LTE in North America is still data only. You need something like LTE+ to get both voice and data over the LTE stream.

Actually, voLTE has come to the US. But why does that matter? OP didn't say anything about LTE voice coverage, nor did anyone else.

The Verizon Z30 is capable of doing it. No guarantee until you test it though.

It matters partially because the OP specifically asked if the 100-2 model was compatible with AT&T's LTE bands. And yes, when people inquire about carrier networks, there's general understanding that the speeds relate to data. Smartphones do a lot of "stuff" online, and users typically want the fastest download speeds that they can find. Mobile devices, and associated apps, are using more & more data.

I get LTE throughout Chicago. Many others have reported LTE in their cities.

You won't get LTE. The -2 doesn't have any American LTE bands. You're lucky your phone's even getting '4G' on TMO, because this phone doesn't have the UMTS 1700 band.

Thanks for the info, if only I wasn't in love with the phone I would return it. Got it for an awesome price too. But it's alright my phones are always connected to strong wifi

Plus it has the wireless charging, right? I get AT&T LTE in the Chicagoland area on Verizon Q10 so presume Verizon Z30 behaves the same

According to the Verizon website, the Verizon Q10 and the Verizon Z30 have the same frequencies for CDMA and GSM. STA-003 seems like the best choice and comes unlocked.

Good to know- especially now that I'm waiting on two -5's that I just purchased for the wife and I.
