Is there any way to do this easily ?! I've spent the last 4 hours trying different ways and researching and can't seem to get it ... reason being, my old z10 is locked to my provider here and a friend (who works for bb) just gave me a new unlocked z10 that i will be using this summer while traveling a bit through europe. So, i'd like to transfer all the contacts in my z10 now to my new z10 and i'm ripping my hair out here trying to figure it out ... how about my bbm contacts as well ?

Back up through Link and then Restore on your new Z10 for regular contacts (and of course add all your accounts). Once you put your BBID in, your BBM contacts will automatically populate.

blackberry id's have to match though ..

Use the switch device tab. I think it does wipe the old one, but you can just switch back.

Alternatively, you can export them using blue tooth, or any of the apps to manage contacts on blackberry world.

Your BBM contacts will transfer when you log in with your bbid to your new device.

Don't keep switching devices, or you may run into an issue. There is a limited amount of times you can switch devices a year (like 15).

If you run into that limit, you can call blackberry to ask them to reset it, but I wouldn't count on that.

Yeah put the sim card from your old phone in your new one and then just restore from BlackBerry Link. You should be fine then

I've never had any trouble with that. Like someone above said try backing up your old device on BlackBerry Link and then plug your new one in and do the device switch. Hopefully this helps. Good luck

Are you intending to use both devices actively, or just your new one?

If just your new one, use Device Switch in BB Link and you'll be all set.

Otherwise, can you get real specific about how you intend to use both devices so we can give you some more relevant advice?

Sorry to hear that. I've given you both ways I've done it and it worked fine. You'll have to wait for someone smarter than I can help you. I've got know more ideas. You might type in the search bar on here (switching contact on z10). Good luck and hopefully someone else will try to help you so I can learn something to.

Sorry valley, not upset at you one bit lol .. just very frustrated!!! Elite, i'd like to keep both and use both, not both actively at the same time .. but simply by switching my sim card over ... i'm just trying to get my contacts and bbm over to the new z10 which i'm finding nearly impossible!!!

O I can understand your frustration. I'm sure there is a way. Hopefully someone will help you soon. Definitely use the search bar I know that's a pain in the **** however usually if I read far enough I've find the answer. Keep your enthusiasm and it will work out

It almost sounds like you're at the registration screen to make a new BBID, not sign in with an existing one.

I go back and forth all the time between my Q10 and Z30 the easiest way is using the Gmail account works the best. Or use the app Contact X.

Backup Pro or PIM Backup and Restore. Link worked for me though when I switched from a Torch to the Z10.
