If you're on AT&T and will stay with them anyway, I don't see why you wouldn't sign the contract and get the phone for free or much cheaper than buying it. I would renew my contract and get the latest phone for $200, then unlock my previous phone and sell it for $200 or sometimes more. When I got the Q10, I paid $200 with the contract. I unlocked my Bold 9900 and it sold for $218. :-)
