I was hoping the crackberry community could help with this one. When I try and take photos with my Z10, the camera cannot focus and everything is blurry unless I am within a foot of my subject. The same happens with Video. The lens at the rear is crystal clear. I tested the camera with BBVE and the same thing happens (clear if it is close and blurry from far away). The front facing camera is fine. Any suggestions?

Try and shift the focus point. Hold and drag the square to some part of the screen.

    Can you post a picture?

Changing the focal point does not help. Photo attached as requested.Blurry Photo and Video-img_20140602_154243.jpg

The auto focus of the phone could have got fried. Get it to a BlackBerry authorised service centre and ask for repair.

Does it focus at all or is it just when you try to snap the pic? How long has this been happening? Do you ever get pics in focus? I know I've had something similar happen to me but its always corrected itself with an app reboot.

I know its a long shot, as I've tested it and it disappears when you open and close the app, but is there a lock icon at the bottom of the green focus box?

Thank you for the suggestions. This has only been happening recently (not sure it is related to the last software update). When it is close to the area it is in focus but when it is farther, I can see the autofocus trying to work, but it never comes in clear. I tried a reboot (whole phone reboot also), but no luck and unfortunately, I have not locked the focal point either.

May sound silly but have you cleaned the camera lens on the back of the phone? I had similar issues and all it took was a soft cloth and for me problem solved.

Did BBVE notice a hardware problem with the camera?

What about a scenic photo, something further away rather than the closeup of text or whatever you posted.

Much as it sucks, if it's only been since the last update, you may have to redo the update. Sometimes the update gets corrupted. Also, you can try just installing the camera bar file. Do a search of the forum for camera bar and you should find a bunch of threads. Just make sure that it's compatible with your OS.

What os? 10.2.1.3175? Try side loading another camera bar file. Use Sachesi or Chrome Browser or DDPB...

I just completed the most recent update and it has corrected the auto focus problem. I guess it would have worked also If I had reloaded the previous update. Another suggestion that I received was that this occurs on occasion with OTA updates. Many thanks for all the suggestions.
