Are you somewhere that requires a password?

If so try open your browser and follow instructions.

    yep, i did that.
but still doesn't work. I just downloaded OS 10.2.1 few nights ago. I don't know if this is relevant.

I kept having "wi-fi Connection Limited" notification. There's no problem with other devices in the house.

Try disconnecting a device or two from the Internet, wait a few minutes and try your phone again (leave other devices disconnected for test).Your service provider may have a device limit and your phone may be the lowest rung on the ladder.

Done that, and still doesn't work
My provider allows 5 devices to connect on the wifi, i only have 3 devices connect to wifi, including my blackberry.
So, maybe this is not the cause of the problem..

I tried to connect to other wifi connection and the problem is the same.

I'm just thinking, is it possible that i need to connect to the IP manually ?
Because at the moment the setting auto obtain IP is ON.
If yes, what should I do ?

    Thank You

I have the same problem, too. I've tried with 4 wireless routers, one which wasn't configured on the phone, reconfigured an old one and nothing helped. I restarted phone, turned off and on wifi on the phone and no success. My phone is stuck on "acquiring ip address" and it's using my mobile data connection for internet

    I'm also affected.
I can connect to the wifi if i turn off all network connections and leave wifi alone on otherwise it keeps "acquiring IP address"

This issue has been plaguing me too, only since I updated to the latest OS three days ago, I never once experienced this issue prior to the update!

Hope somebody on this board who's smarter than me has a resolution?

Edit, I was able to make it work by changing the band from 5Ghz to 2Ghz, not an ideal fix but at least it's working for now.

I got the Limited wifi access message last night. Stuck on acquiring IP address. I reset my modem and router and still had the issue. This morning it was back. I'm glad it seems to be resolved, but I hope this doesn't become a recurring problem.

The lesson I've learned is whenever I lose my wifi, before I start messing with my routers, I BBM others and ask if anyone else has lost their wifi. Last night this happened again and I confirmed everyone in the chat lost theirs too.

I have this problem right now. It happened just after a ferocious thunderstorm here in the Greater Toronto Area. No WiFi connection, stuck in Acquiring IP. Two laptops and an iPod are working fine. Seems to be a BB issue.

actually, this is a great idea... as I spent the better part of 3 hours messing with my various routers/switches last night and then (as a poster above mentioned) I turned off my 'Mobile Network" and the wifi immediately connected - I hope I remember to try this next time before assuming it's an issue on my end :|
