Is it possible to use a USB stick with a playbook for extra storage? Or to play files not stored locally?

The hardware for USB OTG is built into the PlayBook but was never activated in the OS so unfortunately, it's not available.

rthonpm is correct. With the PlayBook, you're unfortunately limited by the amount of storage that's built-in.

You can play media files that are not stored locally, though, including files stored in the cloud or from networked devices over LAN. Ghost Commander (in app world) or ES File Explorer or X-Plore (both sideloaded), among others, will let you do this.

    Hi, Frank.

Enjoyed (from the fourth row, near center) your 1976 Halloween show at MSG's Felt Forum.

One great aspect of that show was that I originally had a seat in the 30th or so row. But, because a ticketholder to the 4th row seat wanted to sit next to his friends, he traded tix with me and threw in a joint with some pretty good innards.

I was wondering about this too. If the hardware supports it... would it be possible to sideload a bar file from a BB10 OS to activate it? I think the Z30 hardware supports OTG USB also.

I know it sounds crazy, but wondered if anyone had tried it.

Not possible, I'm afraid. Previous PB OS versions could have USB OTG enabled through a SSH hack but you needed a separate computer to enable it. Now that bug has been closed.

Thanks, blueberrymerry. What a shame - a great feature wasted. I'd love to see a developer create a 3rd party program which would activate this.
