i got my phone yesterday. charger it at night all night. used it from 8-10 non stop with music etrade txt email and so on. battery life dropped around 15-20% ,then used it without music from 11-2 .45 and battery wlife was 40% why so fast does the battery die?
What OS are you running. If it's 4.6.0.125 then thatks your problem. M
.162 and higher major improvement. Bolds are not known for super batt life but mines so much better now.
Other causes, not properly closing apps and they run in the background. GPS stuff running, wifi...
Thatks what comes to mind right now...Anybody else?

My battery on .167 was about 18 hours from 5pm to 2 pm next day, granted 8 hours sleepin with no use really...So dar on .190 I put in a new battery at 10:20 AM and have used heavily and am at 65%
With just calling it lasts me about two days. Web use, phone calls, videos and music it lasts me the day. Usually with all that it is down to 30-40% by 11 pm. Hopefully the new os improves on all this.

My battery life is terrible compared the Curve I was using. I can't make it to 5:00 PM without having to charge. I thought it was the original battery and had it replaced yesterday and had the same results today. I have turned off wifi and bluetooth. It's to the point that I'm afraid to do anything but talk because it won't make it home. Not the reason I bought the Bold.
Use mine normally. A few calls. A few more texts. A few emails. A bit of 'net surfing. Watch some CV videos, and on my heaviest use day, I just barely got down to 15%. That was about an 18 hour day.
In general, I never get below 40-50% on any given day. If I did, I would by a charger for work. Or another battery. Not that big a deal for the convenience and usability of the phone.
I unplugged my bold at about 6:20am, it's currently 8:54pm. I have 70% left and that is about 30 minutes talk time, 20 texts in and out, an hour web surfing and 20 minutes streaming video throughout the day. running ATT's preinstalled .167. It's to be noted that I keep mine in the supplied clippy case thinger with standby magnet.
I have seemed to notice that at least with .167 and .168 there is some sort of battery leak that happens when bluetooth is on and paired with a headset as well as when GPS is on, I just updated to .190 and will test out tomorrow to see if issues are resolved.
wow i'm getting my bold on thursday
hope the battery life is at least decent on .167 cause i hate upgrading the software
i figure turning the brightness down will help

Wow, what settings do you have enabled? Is your GPS location on? I may talk about an hr on the phone, surf for maybe 30 minutes and use bb messenger throughout the day/mess with GPS/mess with WIFI to see if I can pick it up anywhere. From 630 am to 10/11 pm it is down to 40%. This is with the preinstalled .167. I have my backlight brightness set to 10/backlight timeout 10 seconds. Now something odd has happened the last 2-2.5 days. I haven't charged it since sunday night now and my battery right now is down to 40%. I have probably talked for about two hours total. Surfed the net for maybe a total of 30-45 min. Had wifi on for I guess 20-35 min? Used GPS. I guess that is pretty good. Or maybe it was a fluke Will test again tomorrow.
150-200 emails (a lot received, way less responses/origination), 100 SMS, 20 - 30 minutes of talk, a little browsing, lots of BBM, and some Beejive here and there... maybe 10 hours before needing a charge.
I'm getting about 2 days, though I'm using it 3-4 hours a day right now. My old winmo devices couldn't handle more than 90 mins of solid use, so I'm impressed
