As a developer for BB10 Globally and for Arab purposes especially, Q20 won't let the Middle East OS7 users to upgrade their devices to BB10

Why?

Because people here love BBM, and mostly using it for broadcasting. Yes, OS7 fully compatible with broadcast which allows the user to broadcast friends easily, and unfortunately BB10 is not having these options

#what_BB10_cannot_do_with_broadcast?
-No option to send broadcast to specific categories as it was in all previous OS
-BB10 users are the only ones in all platforms (BBOS,IOS and Android) which cannot insert emoticons while typing a broadcast

If you don't like broadcasts that doesn't mean all the world like you, this features is essential for us and we're asking for some exciting features not new!!

So we all know the Q10 classic design with track-pad will give some attractions for BBOS users to upgrade, but

Q20 won't success in Middle East unless they forced the BBM team to bring back all features was on BBOS to BB10

Yes it might be, but you can imagine the using of broadcast here is like E-mails

We're not VPs, but we love BlackBerry and we don't want to witch to other platforms

If we don't care about BlackBerry, we will not give them what we are missing

But " Q20 won't success" to let OS7 users to upgrade because they will miss an essential feature in their handsets

So for that we're asking for "Broadcast specific Categories" because if any contact don't like it

You can add it to specific category with (No broadcast)

Well, if you think that there are certain features missing in the OS you could give it a try and tell it directly to BlackBerry through their feedback community: https://blackberry.icanmakeitbetter.com/. I have no idea what is the success rate and what are the factors for the idea to be taken into consideration, but posting it is already a good beginning. In addition to that, people who consider this idea interesting/useful might give "likes" and comment on it.

Dave, what he says is true, I hate broadcasts myself but unfortunately people in the Gulf use BBM mainly for broadcasts, some of them went back to OS7 because of BBM.

So if that's the case were talking about all BB10 devices. Not just the Q20. But this isn't a huge issue if people give clear feedback BlackBerry can make the change and update BBM.

Yes, it's not the Q20 in specific, it's about all BB10 phones, true, feedbacks should do it but people have no patience and I think BlackBerry should speed up a bit in the BBM development.

As I replied to Dave, I'm considering Q20 because BlackBerry making this device to let OS7 users upgrade to BB10, but as you know what Middle East users looking for is Broadcast

So if they won't support it fully, the attractions won't be complete

Alternative to broadcast is multichat and groups. It's not like its the only way to message all the people you want to reach.
