Hi. I have a problem with my BlackBerry Z10. I git my BlackBerry Z10 from Vodafone on my pay monthly contract. In that contract I get 100 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of data. About a few days ago I found out that I was used more data the 500MB I am allowed. After this news, I went to Network Connections - Mobile Network and turned the data services tab off ( by the way imy BlackBerry Z10 is running the recently leaked OS 10.3.0.296). I also turned off Wi-Fi . I used about 5 mins of browser since I got the news that I overused my data. However, today I found out that I had acquired another 5 of charges. I don't know how because when I used the Internet I was always at home using my home wifi. I never used Internet outside since I received the news. I figured that it must be a app that I have on my phone which uses my data. I went of Device Monitor and went to the Wi-Fi section and I saw this
BlackBerry Z10 too much internet usage!!-img_20140514_162344.png

Then I went to the Mobile section of Device Monitor and I saw this:

BlackBerry Z10 too much internet usage!!-img_20140514_162353.png

My question is what under Wifi, does the BlackBerry App World 489MB mean? Does it mean that App World has used 489MB of my data?

Also, has anyone got any tips on how to control the amount of data I use and find a solution to why I get charged for using too much data when I barely use the browser?

Please can anyone reply ASAP so I can make sure this kind of thing doesn't happen again next month.

    Thanks,
    Carlos

You said you turned wifi OFF? Use wifi so that you do not use data. I think you can tell BBWorld NOT to use data in its Settings.

Go back to an official OS. Can't complain about things going wrong on an unreleased Beta sorry. Check to make sure your apps are not updating over the air.

500mb is nothing these days. Turn all social apps updates to off or manual. Change email to manual for checking. Don't leave apps open. If you turned data off it must not be working.

Turn wifi on!!! Only browse and download things while on wifi. As others have suggested, turn all social app updates to either off or manual. That way when you are not on wifi they won't be updating while you are only on network. I am running a leak as well, but not the 10.3 one and have never had the issue you describe. You can fix it most likely through your settings on each app.

I don't do Social Media. For Email, open Settings, accounts, select and check your settings for each one.

These attachments don't really tell anything unless you know how much mobile data you have already used prior to updating to leak 10.3. It's possible you had already used over 300MB of it.

That's a new thing that comes with 10.3.
    He has got a beta.

But it's strange that the AppWorld sucks so much data.
    What did you do?

Nah i just find it strange that i cant track data on the Z10. My other phones has got no problem. In fact the iphone tracking data is accurate that when my bill comes in monthly its about 95% same. And of course, i dont wanna be paying for an app on AppWorld just to track it when others have it free. Hopefully 10.3 will help me

Can you track your data usage through your carrier?

Your carrier is charging you even for the wifi data, they can do that as it is in the "small print" of your contract.
Get on to your carrier ASAP To clear this up.
