    Hi,

I was looking for an application which takes a selfie when you type wrong password and probably mail them.
Is there any app for that already?
If not, I am thinking to make one this weekend but I have not much familiarity with BB OS10 Api. So, can any of you please give me some starting pointers like api to use for camera and to know if password entered was correct or not.

    Thanks a lot!

Lol that'd be awesome/hilarious. A user could potentially create their own personal wall of shame of friends and/or strangers attempting to access what's not theirs.

I've never heard of this being done before so it'd probably be new! Dunno if the BB10 SDK allows access to the password protection system though (plus I think app behaviors are limited/restricted when the device is locked).

    Yeah,
That's my concern too if BB OS will allow me to use camera when screen is locked.
I am hoping at the least this would be there that I can get to know if last password entered was correct or not.

I'll research about it more later sometime. I know for sure this can be done with Android. So, probably we can pull this up with BB too.
I'll post here if I find anything.

    Actually it's not my Idea.
It's already done in android (Hidden eye). I was wondering if it there is something similar for BB too. I tried sideloading that app but it wasn't working as expected.
But I am fascinated by idea.

I was looking for a app like a fews months ago in BlackBerry World. Lookout Security & Antivirus does it as well. It's in the Play Store.

I just remember when i was unlocking my brother's iTouch. Everytime I unlock it I hear camera sounds. He's probably laughing when he saw tens to hundreds of my selfie shots.

    Okay, will check it out.
If it can be done on playbook, I think it can be done on mobile too.

What? My friend had an app like that 2 years ago on 2013! He left his phone around and I wanted to see something on his phone and he asked me if I tried to unlock it and I blamed someone else and he got my picture in his e-mail, we where all laughing after. But this app is supposed to be for security, if you lose your phone, or get stolen, and try to unlock it, wouldn't you like to see whose have it? or who was it? The first thing you ask yourself is who might have it and where is it. Even if you know where is it, let's say a restaurant, classroom, building, etc through gps, you still won't know who has it, you need a picture.

I don't see why it can't be done on BlackBerry 10. There's a permission to allow the application to interact with the user through the lock screen. The clock uses it in bedside mode. The camera can already take pictures when locked. Such an application wouldn't be able to actually unlock the device, but if you are concerned about misuse that wouldn't be a bad thing. It also wouldn't wipe the device if someone tried 10 times.

What is missing from your list there is the ability of an app to receive a notification that an incorrect password has been entered. Does BB10 offer that?
