Dear all,

The speaker (main external speaker) of my wife's Z10 (around 13 months old) stopped working couple of weeks ago and I have looked online for possible solutions and tried multiple things including:
- Tapping/pressing the bottom near battery
- Reloading OS
- Removing/repairing with bluetooth device
- Tapping on the BB logo on the back
- Diagnosing with BBVE
- And no the device is not muted

Thus now, I am looking into finding a replacement speaker and I was wondering if anybody changed theirs and have any suggestions? I have been looking at eBay and I see lots of ear pieces and some bundles but I am not sure if they include the speaker thus if anybody can help I would be very helpful. Any other methods of fixing is also welcome!

BBRY took most idiotic approach to the rear speaker placement in Z10 embedding it into rear plate. I have stl100-1 but I believe that other models have same placement as mine. You have to order whole back case just to replace speaker. In Serbia, BBRY authorized service charges replacement around $60. If you are in US or West EU you can order rear case from eBay and replace it by yourself.

I have a ST100-1 and the trick you mentioned of pressing in the bottom part worked! Thanks!

Anyway, I had already ordered the speaker, but did not get to use it. Now a I saw in a coment that the STL100-1 is supposed to have a different speaker. I dont know if what i got would work on mine.
