Has anyone been able to get the Fuji camera app to work? I installed it on my Z30 via Snap, but I can't seem to connect to the camera.

The camera's wifi shows up in the wifi settings, but the app doesn't seem to see it. The documentation doesn't say anything about 'connecting' to the camera, so I didn't connect to it. I think the app is supposed to setup the connection.

Is there any chance of an updated adroid runtime fixing this?

    Thanks,
    ~Shea M.

I would try installing the app via the Amazon App Store. Often this can get a non functioning app to work.

Thanks for the reply, I'll see if the app is available on there. Is there a history of apps working through the Amazon store and not through the Snap app?

Yes some apps that do not work via Snap will work when installed via Amazon. Amazon does a better job getting the app to see your device as an android device.

    Thanks for the heads up.

Hmmm, it looks like WiFi direct is not supported, I am guessing this app uses wifi direct: Hardware Features - Runtime for Android apps - BlackBerry Developer, at least in 10.2.

Hopefully this feature is added to the Android Runtime in 10.3.

I have confirmed that support for wifi direct in the Android runtime will not be in 10.3. With the Amazon app store deal though, I am hoping it gets into the 10.4 update.

I noticed when I go into the Android App Store on my laptop, it now shows my old S4 and my Q10 as my devices. So yes, amazon does see our phones!

I have 10.3.1 installed but have not tried again. BB dev support told me wifi-direct was not on the 10.3 roadmap.

edit: just checked, and it still doesn't work. It won't until the Android runtime supports wi-fi direct. If the cannon apps is working, it likely isn't use wifi-direct, but regular wifi, or bluetooth.

Before i got the fuji, i thought its wifi capability is similar to having a wifi-sdcard where user can use a browser to view the pics. This wifi-direct thing is a let down.

So far the only two camera to smartphone app which works is nikon and go pro.

I've tried canon, Sony and panasonic and all 3 don't work.

I suspect WiFi direct in the BB10-Android runtime will get implemented at some time. BB10 supports it, so it is just a matter of connecting it to the Android runtime, one of the few gaps left for the blackberry android-runtime team. Unfortunately, they have not update the roadmap: Release roadmap - Runtime for Android apps - BlackBerry Developer

Appreciate this thread... I thought I was going crazy!
I have an X100T Fujifilm camera and loved the idea to control the camera and to WiFi the photos so I can load them to my phone.
Got it working on my Nexus 7 and my Galaxy Note 2... but not on my beloved Z30
