this is normal & legit. BB mini stereo speakers are larger & more powerful than the Z30's stereo speakers but the phone's speakers are pretty much comparable.

I have the BlackBerry bluetooth gateway and it is perfect when you have an old but good sound system. A little glitchy with the z10 bluetooth but with the z30 it's a charm

Midrange on blue tooth speaker sounds better but z30 speakers have more treble

The Z30 has the best in any aspect sound in the mobile phones industry. I can live just fine without the Bluetooth external speaker.
