Who told you they are incompatible? That makes no sense. Some more information would be of help to us

Should be it just connects via wifi. I have connected many devices to my q10 without issue

Do you mean Bluetooth tethering or Wifi hot spot? Bluetooth may be problematic (although my nexus 5 and LG Optimus LTE pair to my Z10 and z30... so HTC would have to work hard to make it not work on the HTC One.

Turn wifi hotspot "on", on the Q10.

Search for wifi signal on (whatever device) you have.

    No "pairing" involved.

(make sure you carrier has not DISABLED hotspot on your Q10) -sometimes they do that.

Thanks for the post, done all that. Every other phone works with the Hot Spot except the HTC One

Might be the HTC One. I couldn't pair my buddies to a few things. Maybe a obstacle with the One. One of the reasons I stopped buying htc products a long time ago. That and crappy craftsmanship. No more for this guy.

There is an issue on certain devices, where they can't connect to hot spots.

It has to do with a wi-fi profile. And the actual wifi chip hardware. I've run into it a few times.

It's actually rarer to find one that cannot connect, than all that do.

I remember it happening to an older device I had (I forget which one).

There is pretty much no fix, you can always try to connect over blue tooth.

Hopefully HTC will push out an update for this, but only will happen if users demand it.

I just checked Hot Spot connection with my Z10 and new HTC One I got from work. The HTC connected with no problem to my Z10. Running. 2947.

I can pair my iPhone 5s with my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 just fine (didn't have to change settings on either device). I had the same problem pairing my iOS device with my Q10, it just doesn't work. Another Blackberry fail.
