Don't transfer. Create a backup file and install the backup.

You're gonna have to get the Z10 to the OS version of the Z30 (or higher?), before you can transfer. Find an autoloader and it shouldn't take too long.

What exactly do you want to transfer? If only contacts get "Contact X". BB10 makes you create or sign in to all email/chat/social accounts anyway when you do (prior to) a device transfer. Media you can copy/paste manually using a PC. App data is the one thing that you really can't do without an actual link device transfer (if it works).

Yes, it will work. Animalpack is right as well. There are many choices. You can also copy all contacts to an email address.

Hopefully, James will be along. I have not really restored. With the z10 plugged in, can you chose a RESTORE and find the backup that you created for the z30 and restore that to the z10?

How about Switch Wizard or is that limited due to OS differences?

Did Link recognize your Z10? If yes, click on "restore" and your backup files will pop up. Pick the one you want to restore from and follow the prompts.

A no go james, just plugged the z10, went to restore, and the blackberry z30 files that I saved yesterday showed up, I clicked , and it says the software is not the same as the z10, will not allow it....file isn't compatible with the ver. device software that I am currently running, update device software try again...does that mean I have to install a "leak" on the z10?

It is possible to restore your z30 backup on your z10 bit you need to use an external software.

    512high,

BB Link can't restore the backup from a higher OS version to a lower version. You have two choices.

    Option 1:
Try Sachesi (Sachesi: Firmware Extractor, Searcher and Installer » Qtness Development), which backs up and restores using the same .bbb format as BB Link. In most cases, it will restore backups from higher to lower versions. Download it and put the exe file in a folder (location doesn't matter). Connect your device by USB. Launch the exe, then select the "Backup" tab, then select "Backup Options". It will take a moment to read your device. Select what you want to restore from the check boxes, than click on "Restore Backup" and navigate to wherever your BB Link backup is located and the restoreing process will begin.

    Option 2:
Upgrade the OS on your Z10. Depending upon your carrier, an official update may be available. If not, and you're confortable with a leak, I'd suggest trying 10.2.1.2947. You can find it here: http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-le...00-1-a-918891/

I'd suggest trying the Sachesi method first, if you're undecided.

Edit: I see some smart cookie also suggested Sachesi while I was writing this up...
