Hi Everyone,

Here's my situation....lol.

My first Blackberry was a Bold 9900. Amazing device. I moved to a new country so I had a family member taken over the plan with the Bold. I miss it every day.

I am currently using a Sony Xperia Z1 which I admit is a really good device. But, like many on here, I missed that keyboard. I purchased the Q5 from that Koodo deal. I'll pick it up when in Canada this summer.

But, here's the difficult part...... a member of my family works for Blackberry. I am able to get a new and unlocked Q10 for $199 CDN.

I already have 2 phones.

For me, this is a wicked deal, but my wife doesn't understand....lol

I haven't used BB10 yet, aside from looking online and in stores. I realize there is no tool belt which I did enjoy on the 9900.

By the looks of it, the Q5 is a great device and I hope the keyboard is decent. But, is it worth $199 for a Q10. I would then have 3 phones. Or, do I wait for the Q20.

Yeah, definitely for that price! You can sell the Q5 and Sony for ~$350 together and end up with an upgraded device and extra cash!

I don't agree with many on here but in all reality what do you need 3 phones for? In my opinion it's a waste of money but that's just my opinion. Do whatever makes you happy

In my opinion, if you already have one BlackBerry 10 device you don't need another.

I would say that the Q10 keyboard is much superior to the Q5 keyboard, so I would sell the Q5, and for the few dollars more, have the better device, with better battery life, and a better screen. On a personal note, I much prefer the OS10 compared to Android, but it will take some learning. I know that I kept on trying to use BB10 gestures on my Nexus 4 when I had it. Good luck, and remember, if the deal makes you money in the long run, that is how you sell it to she who must be obeyed.

I used the Bold 9900 too before getting my Q10. It's a great phone. The Q20/Classic won't be released until later this year, still several months from now, so it's going to be a long wait.

Get the q10, q5 is good but it doesn't have the specs or camera etc as the q10, you can relish the entire BlackBerry experience with the q10

Q10 is superior to Q5.
However, if you used Bold you will not like 10. 10 devices are nowhere near Bold. 10 OS has a long way to go in productivity use.
For social media and Internet use Q10.
For PIM use Bold 9900. Give away Q5 in xchange for Q10.

One thing to take note is the "double typing issue" on the Q10. Of course not all Q10s have this problem but there's a thread going on with many users facing this issue on the Q10.

The Q5 doesn't have this problem. So, if you think the keyboard is an important factor, perhaps you might want to keep the Q5.

I was a Q10 + Z10 user, forget the keyboard and go for a Z30, best phone I have ever. The screen of the Q10 is a joke, no way I will go back to that screen size. If you value productivity + browsing + media go Z30.
