Besides the fact that BB10 can zip/unzip files out of the box there are already other native zip/unzip apps in BlackBerry World. What I don't find there is a native rar/unrar app. I don't unterstand why nobody is creating such an app.

Looking at the description, it appears that aside from the zip/unzip capability that we already have on our devices, it can also open a few files types that we can't access natively:

File Support and 3rd Party Integration WinZip for BlackBerry lets you view: - Photos and images (.jpg, .jpeg, .png, .bmp, .gif) -
Text files (.rtf, .csv, .txt, .ini, .inf, .bat, .js, .log, .xml,.css, .java, .cs, .h, .m,.cpp,.c,.sql,. properties) -
    Web files (htm, .html,.jsp,.asp)
WinZip for BlackBerry lets you open other popular file types in 3rd party apps: -
Word documents (.doc, .docx) - Excel spreadsheets (.xls, .xlsx) - PowerPoint presentations (.ppt, .pptx) - PDF files (.pdf)

So, it looks like it would be usefull to some.

Really ugly app. The zip/unzip function built into BB10 is all I really need.

Yes, you can use it to extract rar files but there is no option to create a rar archive.

Exactly. Another name app should always be celebrated for coming to BB10.
