One thing I loved about bb10 devices is the ability to take a photo as soon as you press the screen (or volume buttons). With 10.2.1, I noticed it doesn't do this anymore, and the camera now focuses after you touch the screen which creates a significant delay.

Does anyone know if Blackberry will result back to the old method in the next update?

That does not answer my question. My question was in regards to the delay after you press the screen to take a picture, not the sound. The camera now doesn't snap a photo as soon as you touch the screen (or press the volume keys) with 10.2.1. I was wondering if anyone knew if BlackBerry would revert back to the old method in a future update.

I believe this happens when the focus bar is still being not green yet when you pressed the volume rockers.

Yes, now you have to wait until it's green in order to get an instant photo (without a delay). Befor 10.2.1, you can touch or screen or press the volume rockers at anytime and the camera would instantly take a photo, with a delay or having to wait for it to focus. I preferred the old way as I was able to take a picture without worrying about missing a shot. Previously, even though the wasn't necessarily in focus I was able to capture a photo in focus. Now, the delay that happens after you touch the screen causes me to miss shots, or have them completely blurry.

Also tried that, it seems that there's a significant loss of image quality when using 'action' mode. I guess that would do for now though. Hopefully BlackBerry reverts back to the older shooting method.

I just tried burst mode, and there still seems to be a significant loss in detail and overall image quality.

It's a shame, Blackberry was probably the only one who competed with the iphone as far as having an instant shutter, or zero shutter lag. Hopefully blackberry reverts back to that in the next update.

Hold on the focus square until it locks, then, instant pictures.

The time it takes to focus depends a lot on what's in the frame.

Yes, but it will be locked to a certain distance only, and wouldn't allow to take a picture of a closer or farther distance while keeping the subject in focus.

You had to wait on the old OS too. Note: If you are taking selfies switch camera to front facing.

Seriously, this auto correct is getting worse and worse. Correct words will change to bad for no reason.

Just make sure it focuses, shoot, if the subject moves, hold again, refocus, hold and shoot.

10.2.1.1259 seems pretty quick (face focus too). Also if you turn off the flash, the camera is quicker. (It doesn't measure the light to turn on/off flash)
