    Ford's new My Touch with BlackBerry software slated for year end, WSJ says

    Ford's (F) overhauled My Ford Touch infotainment system, which will now use BlackBerry (BBRY) software in place of the Microsoft (MSFT) technology that was previously relied on, could be introduced in new vehicles as soon as late this year, said The Wall Street Journal, citing a person familiar with the matter.

    WSJ and Bloomberg are typically quite accurate.

    A new car would be released in August, September, so they would have to be pretty damn sure what system they are going to be using already. If not now, they definitely have to know by June to allow testing and what not. However, last minute changes can always happen.

    This is very cool, because there was some confusion after the initial rumor (Ford came out and said "sure, we're dumping Microsoft, but we haven't decided what we're really going with yet", which of course was total BS).

    This is very cool. Hopefully helps boost the stock back up a bit.

    Everything BlackBerry and QNX is still going to be under the hood. Likely won't be any references to them in the UI either.
