View 3D images... In 3D, or just allow a user to interact with a 3D image and manipulate it?

So Chen's is focused "on the regulated industries such as healthcare". Chen is so great, he can be focused on so many different thing, without letting anything slip by him.

Very interesting that BlackBerry is spending their cash on investments of this nature....

Not sure but I would imagine that it would be the first of any of the major platforms with that capability

Negative. Many apps available on other platforms that allow viewing of 3D DICOM files.

A very strange thing to focus on, especially considering that most healthcare images are stored in proprietary databases like PACS systems. I assume there's more to this than just a phone with an app that can read DICOM format...at least I hope there is.

My understanding is that Apple currently owns the health care industry for tablets and phones due to all the medical apps available to them now. How will BlackBerry address this issue? It still boils down to apps.

They have enough to satisfy HIPPA requirements and NIST's FIPS approval.
