I recently acquired (by trading a high end android) what appears to be an evaluation model BlackBerry X00 Z30 STA100-1

I'm curious if I'll get updates in the future or if I'll have to run leaks.

    It's currently running 10.2.1.2084

    Thanks for any info.

Updates depend on the provider. If your provider offers an update you should see the release. Some providers are so long in updating that side loading works for late OS.

So the original provider was AT&T so since they never released the unit, they won't be providing updates. Are the official BlackBerry updates sideloadable?

Or did you mean my sim provider which is either koodo or wind (though koodo never carried the Z30)
    Thanks

You'll probably have to use autoloaders/Sachesi, seeing as how the STA100-1 was never released. No carrier in the world provides updates for an unreleased phone.

Okay so next question, in reading that for the Z30 all the updates are for all models. So will autoloader so be available with the current official software? And if so where would I get them -or- do I just use BlackBerry Link?

Using Firefox, log on to Crackberry and do a search. You will find all the links for Sachesi or just the autoloaders with all detailed instructions. Good luck!!!

Forget carrier updates, that's a big waste of time.

Look thru these links, this will give you all the information you need to know about loading the newest os.

Lol I'm not interested, I've got the 100-2 and that's fine where I am. Was purely asking because it's in high demand.

Which carrier are you with and would you mind telling us your location (at least city/state)?
STA 100-1 is the cancelled model that was supposedly fully compatible with NA LTE bands such as those of AT&T.

If you don't mind, would you please go to blackberry app world and install the app "Signal" and post the screens you see, especially the Radio?
We would all be very grateful.

Also, maybe we are asking too much, but what's the model # behind the unit? Is it RFV121LW?

Well what is the latest from your carrier? That 10.2.1 is a later OS so it should be getting updates. At any point BB *could* kill it, as it is not supposed to be sold/traded/etc. Probably had a "Propery of Research in Motion" sticker on the back at some point.
