I think the issue is that the app name suggests that it records phone calls, yet the screen shots from the ones I can see suggest it's just a voice note recorder.

There is only 1 screen shot though so can't be sure. But if it is what I'm seeing then that is deliberately miss leading but nothing new. Remember "app for instagram" and things along those lines

The only way to solve this problem is consumer awareness unfortunately. I'd hope Blackberry doesn't promote this kind of behavior though.

It's the same issue as with all those "App for viber/instagram/etc. etc..." fake apps. They even get rated 5 stars by the developer to lure even more people into buying a useless app.

Not really, methinks. The issue is bigger here coz it has Built for BlackBerry certification. Which means somebody at BlackBerry actually tested it and played around with it and found no problems with it functionally speaking.

Considering that Built for BlackBerry is supposed to mean it brings great benefit for the user, I don't think that a clone of Remember should get it, or even approved

Edit:
So I checked it out myself and it seems that it indeed has features that barely meets Built for BlackBerry requirements. Maybe the good people at BlackBerry stuck by the books and approved it just because of that. I think you already can share voice notes to social network so IDK how useful it is actually, and won't pay to try it out

The first screen shot says the app title as "Call Voice Recorder", but the app only records voice notes and is no way a call voice recorder.
