There are a number of similar 'limited connectivity' issues at present. I had one today when visiting my brother in law - however when returning home all was fine.

    Have you tried rebooting everything?

If so, try turning off the data element of your mobile network and see if the wifi connects.

Yes I tried it, but didn't work...now it's back to normal by itself. I don't really know what's the issue

I have this happen on and off too. It's normally (for me) related to an ip on my phone not refreshing, it expires and does not auto renew. So I either restart my phone or disconnect and reconnect to my wifi.

It may also be the wifi router burping. We used to use the all in one wifi modem for DSL and wifi but kept getting similar errors. Turning the wifi off on the modem and buying aid range dedicated wifi router solved the errors almost completely.

Since I updated to 10.2.1 my phone gets booted from Wifi all the time. It seems to keep searching and eventually picks it up again. During that time I do occasionally use up my data. Luckily I have a good data plan. This searching for Wifi also uses battery. I would lose between 30 to 40 percent of my battery overnight. I started turning off Wifi at night and now lose less than 10 percent. I keep hoping this issue gets resolved in an update. When I was on 10.1 I never had this issue.

As mentioned elsewhere in this forum, switching your router's channel to 1 or 11 really helps. That was the only thing which worked for my Q10.

It seems well documented around the forums. I do think it is possible an OS problem inherent throughout releases and not yet fixed as I first thought it might be my router (It only happens to me when I am running my Z10 on 5Ghz and a reboot of the phone is needed to restore the connection. 2.4Ghz is fine)
I thought to myself after reading the various threads it surely cannot be everyone's router at fault? It also seems very interesting that my problem happens more so when my phone is idle. I'm betting it may very well be a power saving feature as it doesn't happen that I am aware of when I am running data over WIFI.

    Interesting.

It has been discussed in the forum before but here it is the work around coming from there: turn off your cell signal (Mobile Network) and the Wi-fi should connect. After it's connected properly to Wi-fi you can turn the cell signal back on.

Your right. It does work. Shame though it has to be this way until a proper fix comes out but I am still not convinced it's a bug. I am still sure that it's a battery save feature or something built it as it would make sense though some others are reporting that it is random drops as opposed to drops when the wifi is idle for example.

    Thanks for sharing.

From what I have seen it seems to be an issue with the OS when it tries to switch over to the Wifi. Also it looks from the posts that is a combination of OS version and router brand/style. I personally got a lot of them after the last upgrade...

Seems to be just on the 5Ghz band for me...

    Blackberry Z10 STL100-2 on a Netgear WNDR4300 (Atheros Radios)

Not noticed any issues with 2.4Ghz yet.

I'm starting to think these WiFi issues are like BIS outages but not near as bad. If the phone can't phone home it gives the error.

Most of the time turning your mobile network off forces WiFi and it will work.

Other than the one I have already suggested above you can try to disable the Wi-Fi and re-enable it after 2-3 seconds. It works for me and it's faster than the previous method.

The only way for me is by restarting my router. Disabling/re-enabling the WiFi option does not fix it.
