Let me start by adding that I like either Cyan or choice. I'm interested to see what they'll do with the voice control. Not that I ever use it, but it's still pretty interesting to see how they'll develop it

I don't think they would ever just go with red.Like they said in the article they were just testing new things. They might let you pick the colour of the accents.

The thing is, this is an easy change that will make the look more distinctive (cyan is used fairly frequently in Android for accents, too).

There are two distinct benefits to the red:

1. It makes accents more visible to the USER, and may enhance usability by drawing attention to specific controls/elements
2. Maybe more important, it makes the accent more visible to ANYONE CASUALLY LOOKING AT THE USER'S PHONE, which might wind up prompting discussion.

My own take is that it's almost an automotive instrument look. Personally, I find the cyan to be a nice, restrained color. But I see potential in using red. For me it's hardly a hill to die on and there might be some benefits.

I agree, definitely not a deal breaker for me. Either way I'll be happy with my Z10 and 10.3.

On the automotive side I owned a Civic SI that had red controls. It got annoying really quickly. The red accents here will be the same at all. There will be much less of it.

I think making it a user option would be good.

I'm not holding my breathe for customizable accent colors. This is coming from blackberry, who still does not provide a customizable option for the LED colors and how long have they had an LED for? Forever....I hope I'm wrong though!!
